ABOUT TODD PENDU

I am an artist, curator, musician, and Founder/Chief Visionary Officer of PENDU MEDIA LLC which includes the lifestyle-brand PENDU NYC, the record label PENDU SOUND RECORDINGS, and the online music/fashion/culture magazine EKSTATIC VISION. I also manage LA-based musician CHELSEA WOLFE.

At Pendu NYC, I work with a revolving cast of artists, designers, musicians, stylists, videographers and photographers on media productions as diverse as album releases, photoshoots, videos, music shows, dance parties, and art events all connected by a vision of creating immersive and atmospheric environments for the purpose of inducing collective or individual ecstatic experiences.

– As a fine artist/bricoleur/adhocist/collagist, I explore themes of syncretism, ecstatic states, eroticism, transcendentalism, and occultism. I also work in graphic design.

– I DJ music events, art openings, and dance parties.

– I perform Ritual Electronic Music under the moniker CHAOS MAJIK and perform as GHOST MOTH with free-jazz legend Daniel Carter.

– In 2010, I created a new, original Trumps-only Tarot deck illustrated by Jesse Gelaznik known as THE MAJIKIAN’S TAROT with an additional 23rd Trump known as “The Darkness”.

– I have a published book of collected poetic-texts entitled “Analekta: Semantic Texts” and am currently working on a non-fiction historical biography tentatively titled “Bouzingo Means Noise!” about a relatively obscure proto-surrealist/goth/punk French literary collective from the early 19th century that included some semi-famous figures of French history such as Gerard de Nerval, Theophile Gautier, and Petrus Borel.
